Preston North End's transfer window saw a fair bit of a shake up to the squad with 10 players joining the Lilywhites. Manager Simon Grayson aimed to strengthen the team to be more of a threat in the Championship in their second season since their return, along with this there was a need to not destroy the squad harmony by getting rid of many key players from the Preston ranks.

Chris Maxwell was Preston's first signing of the new season. He was signed from Fleetwood after being their player of the season last year, Chris was welcomed by the North End fans as the fans demanded a permanent signing between the sticks. The 26 year old goalkeeper is currently Wales 4th choice goalkeeper and hopes to push on and try to gain a place within the Wales squad, he is expected to be the second choice goalkeeper for the forth coming season, but will be pushing to get into the first team and has plenty of time to do so after signing a 3 year deal.

Simon Makienok was the Lilywhite's second signed of the new season. The 6 ft 7 Danish striker signed from Palermo on a season long loan. The striker spent last season on loan with ex-Championship team Charlton. He scored 35 goals in 74 for Brøndby IF in the Danish Superleague, gaining the Player of the Month award.
